SMCH Seeks Daisy Award Nominations From Patients For Outstanding Nurses

Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) and McCrary-Rost Clinics are calling for nominations of exceptional nurses. In collaboration with the DAISY Foundation, SMCH has established a tradition of honoring nurses who demonstrate extraordinary dedication and go above and beyond in their work. The DAISY Foundation, a not-for-profit organization based in Glen Ellen, Calif., was created by the Barnes family in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Inspired by the care Patrick received from nurses during his illness, the foundation aims to express gratitude to nurses who make a significant impact on the lives of their patients and families. The DAISY Award recipients are recognized as exemplary role models within the nursing community. They are celebrated for their compassionate care, effective communication, positive attitude, patient advocacy, and collaborative teamwork. Winners of The DAISY Award enjoy various benefits, including reduced tuition, conference scholarships, special certification rates, and more. Patients who have experienced extraordinary care from a nurse at SMCH or McCrary-Rost Clinics are encouraged to submit a nomination form. Nominees will have the opportunity to attend an awards banquet in May 204, where the recipient for the year will be announced. The deadline for nominations for the next award cycle is March 31, 2024, although nominations are accepted throughout the year. Nomination forms are available online at www.stewartmemorial.org. Completed forms should be returned to Ann Lengeling, SMCH Chief Nursing Officer, at 1301 W Main St, Lake City, IA 51449.
