Fair season is underway in the listening area with the opening of the Calhoun County Expo yesterday (Wednesday). The Expo runs from July 5 through Sunday, July 9 at the fairground in Rockwell City. The Carroll, Greene, and Audubon County Fairs all begin next week. The Audubon County Fair, hosted in Audubon, is held from July 10 to July 16 at the fairgrounds in Audubon. Carroll County’s runs from July 11 through July 16 at the fairgrounds in Coon Rapids, while Greene County’s begins July 11 and closes on July 17 in Jefferson. The Crawford County Fair opens the following week on July 19 at the fairgrounds in Denison and runs through July 23. The Sac County Fair is scheduled for the last week in July, from July 26 to July 29. There is over a month break before the next fair in the region, and that is Guthrie County’s from Aug. 21 through Sept. 4 in Guthrie Center. Each event is booked full of animal shows, 4-H exhibits, entertainment, and more. Links to each county fair website are included below.
