One Driver Seriously Injured In Wednesday Crash NE Of Carroll

One person was seriously injured yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon following a two-vehicle collision northeast of Carroll. According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of Noble Avenue and 140th Street. The initial report shows 68-year-old Joseph Clyde Morlan of Carroll was traveling southbound on Noble in a 2006 Ford F-150 and failed to yield at the intersection to an eastbound 1997 Pontiac Grand Am, operated by 30-year-old Bryson Martin Kramer of Fort Dodge. The Morlan truck collided with the driver’s side of the Kramer sedan, and both vehicles came to rest in the southeast ditch. First responders had to mechanically extricate Kramer from his car before transporting him to St. Anthony Regional Hospital. He was later airlifted to a Des Moines hospital for treatment of suspected life-threatening injuries. Morlan reported only minor injuries following the crash and was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
