Storm Lake Man Faces Multiple Felony Charges For Alleged Assault With Blade

A Storm Lake man faces multiple felony charges for allegedly wielding a blade during an assault last (Wednesday) night. According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 9:45 p.m. to an apartment in the 800 block of Erie Street. Law enforcement was speaking with witnesses when a male subject, identified as 29-year-old Dacry Rapay, exited the building armed with a knife. Rapay approached the victim, but authorities intervened and deployed a Taser device to subdue him. Further investigation revealed Rapay had also thrown a knife at the victim and repeatedly struck her in the head. Police say he also caused over $2,500 in damage to the victim’s vehicle. Rapay was booked into the Buena Vista County jail for going armed with intent, interference with official acts using a weapon, and second-degree criminal mischief, class D felonies, domestic abuse assault while displaying a weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor, and public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor. As of Thursday morning, Rapay remained in custody on a $17,300 bond.
