Dorothy Mae (Fischer) Youngblood, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away after a brief illness on March 14, 2023. She was born September 25, 1935, on a farm near Templeton. She was the last of nine children born to Frank & Kate (Bierl) Fischer.
Dorothy was baptized and confirmed at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton. She attended rural school, then Sacred Heart Catholic School, graduating with the class of 1953.
Dorothy was a bookkeeper for many years for a large national manufacturing company in Redmond, WA and was transferred with the company to Burlingame, CA. After moving back to Kirkland, WA, she started her own flooring company and then retired.
She married Frank Youngblood on September 3, 1988 at Hanna Boys Center in Sonoma, CA.
Dorothy enjoyed playing bingo, the one arm bandit, card games with friends, decorating her home, top to bottom, for every holiday. She organized family summer outings to pick green beans, peaches, pickles and various fruits and vegetables so that she could preserve them every year. She made homemade jams and jellies for her family to enjoy. She was a devoted member of the Catholic church.
She is survived by her husband, Frank of Snohomish, WA and her children: Pam Blessington of Marinez, CA, Gary (Carla) Blessington of Kirkland, WA, Mark Blessington of Bothell, WA, Lisa (Derek) Blessington of Renton, WA and Michael Blessington of Friesen, Germany. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Wyatt Blessington, William Blessington, and Jack Blessington; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Terry Blessington, and her siblings, John & Elizabeth Fischer, Hilda & Alvin Steffes, Clarence & Agatha Fischer, Otmar & Colette Fischer, Leonard & Lucille Fischer, Catherine & Bob Pelfresne, Mary & Ambrose Dentlinger and Rita & Joe Ferden.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, July 15th at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton with Father Terry Roder as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
