Iowa Fuel Report: July 12, 2023

According to the latest report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa, motor fuel prices slipped higher over the past week. As of Wednesday, July 12, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel was $3.33, a one-cent increase for the week but still $1.14 lower than a year ago. The national average for gasoline on Wednesday stood at $3.54 per gallon, a two-cent increase. As for retail diesel, Iowa prices climbed one cent to $3.59 per gallon, compared to $5.28 per gallon last year. Local diesel prices remain 26 cents below the national average of $3.85 per gallon. In heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site fell three cents to $2.63 per MMBtu.
