Storm Lake Teen Airlifted After Tuesday Stabbing; Three Other Teens In Custody

Several Storm Lake teenagers face felony charges following a fight that left one person with life-threatening injuries. According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Seneca Street and E. Lakeshore Drive at approximately 8:43 p.m. Tuesday to a report of multiple subjects involved in a brawl. Authorities say a 15-year-old male from Storm Lake with a suspected stab wound was transported from the scene to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center and was later airlifted to another hospital in critical condition. An investigation into the fight led to the arrest of three Storm Lake teens. A 15-year-old male has been charged with willful injury causing serious injury, going armed with intent, and participating in a riot, all class D felony. Two other suspects, one 15 and the other 17, have also been charged with participating in a riot. All three subjects were transported to a juvenile detention center, where they remain in custody. Anyone with information or surveillance footage of the Tuesday night fight is asked to contact the Storm Lake Police Department. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
