Former Carroll City Councilman Jerry Fleshner has announced he is planning for another foray into local politics with the launch of his campaign to run for the Carroll Ward 2 seat. The position is currently held by Misty Boes, but she is not seeking reelection. Fleshner, who has more than 15 years of experience in elected positions with the Carroll City Council and Carroll Community School District (CCSD), says Boes has done an excellent job, and he wants to replace a quality council member with another quality one. Fleshner previously served on the Carroll City Council as an at-large councilman. He ran for mayor against Mark Beardmore in the last election but lost, temporarily ending his time as an elected official. The candidate filing period for the November 2023 city and school elections opens Aug. 28 and runs through Sept. 21. Election day is Tuesday, November 7.
