A Manning man faces felony charges in Carroll County District Court for allegedly breaking an infant’s ribs last month. According to district court records, 22-year-old Albert Sidney Holloway III made his initial appearance on Tuesday for child endangerment causing serious injury, a class C felony. According to an affidavit from the Manning Police Department, a five-week-old infant was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital on June 30 for suspected child abuse. Authorities say the infant suffered from multiple rib fractures and bruising. Holloway admitted to causing the injuries during an interview with Department of Health and Human (HHS) investigators. He was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant and released on his own recognizance after appearing before a magistrate. His preliminary hearing is slated for July 27. A class C felony in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
