ISA Encourages Soybean Farmers To Participate In Board Of Directors Election This Month

The Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) is calling on the state’s soybean growers to participate in the board of directors election this July. Eligible farmers who market at least 250 bushels of soybeans annually are encouraged to cast their votes in the annual election. Ballots and instructions have been mailed out and must be postmarked for return by July 31. Randy Miller, ISA president and soybean farmer near Lacona, says, “We encourage farmers to lend their voices and see their input reflected in the work ISA does. When we elect farmers to the ISA board, we are choosing leaders tasked with deciding how the checkoff dollars of Iowa soybean growers are best utilized” The ISA board comprises two directors from each of Iowa’s nine crop reporting districts and four At-Large positions. Directors serve three-year terms and can be reelected for up to three consecutive terms. Local candidates include Jeff Frank of Lake View and James Hepp of Rockwell City in District 4, and Laverne Arndt of Sac City for an at-large position. Farmers who have not received a mailed ballot by June 30 are advised to contact the Iowa Soybean Association at (515) 251-8620. For more information about the candidates, visit the ISA’s website at iasoybeans.com.
