Busiest Days Of Summer In Carroll Begin Monday With State Baseball, Ridiculous Day Sales, RAGBRAI, And More

The Carroll Chamber of Commerce is diving into the busiest eight days of this summer, and they are encouraging locals to take advantage of the fun that is in store. The 1A and 2A state baseball tournament begins today (Monday) at Merchants Park, Live + Local and the Chamber’s annual Ridiculous Day sale is slated for Thursday, and tens of thousands of riders will head for Carroll on Monday during RAGBRAI. Chamber Executive Director Kimberly Tiefenthaler says the next two weeks are a great opportunity for Carroll to showcase itself to the rest of the state.

State baseball quarterfinals are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, the semifinals are on Wednesday and Thursday, and the championship games will be held on Friday. Thousands of fans are expected to attend at least one of the many games this week, and some are coming from as far away as Burlington. Business Development Director Roseanne Nees says this influx of people is an excellent midsummer boost for local businesses, especially when it coincides with the Ridiculous Day sales and Live + Local.

The countdown to Carroll’s overnight stop on the RAGBRAI route is down to its final days. Tiefenthaler says they are as prepared as they can be for the 25,000 or so visitors expected next week.

Everything RAGBRAI-related can be found online at www.carrollragbrai.com. The full interview with Tiefenthaler and Nees from Monday morning is included below.
