Bank Midwest has presented a $10,000 check to Main Street Manning supporting the “Refresh the Park” campaign. The grant was awarded to Main Street Manning, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing the Main Street district. The Refresh the Park Committee, consisting of volunteers from Main Street, parents, grandparents, and the City of Manning, is actively involved in fundraising efforts. Cory Arp, Parks and Recreation Director and committee member, expressed gratitude for the recognition of the project’s community impact. The campaign aims to upgrade existing park amenities, including the installation of new monkey bars and a train set. The majority of the funds raised will be utilized to replace outdated equipment with a large, all-inclusive piece, accompanied by rubber surfacing to enhance accessibility and safety. Luke Potthoff, a Manning resident and Business Development Manager at Bank Midwest, says, “Bank Midwest believes it’s vital to support all of the communities we serve and believe it’s important to help the vibrancy of those communities. We are honored to help Manning provide this important new asset for the region.” With the help of Bank Midwest’s contribution, the campaign is approaching its goal of $350,000, with approximately $100,000 remaining to be raised. Individuals interested in supporting the project can contribute at Manning City Hall, the Manning Rec Center, or by contacting a committee member.
