Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has obtained and released unclassified FBI records that he claims outline alleged criminal activity from President Joe Biden during his time as vice president during the Obama Administration. Grassley, along with House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY), obtained the FBI-generated document, known as an FD-1023, after whistleblowers within the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) notified Grassley of the potential conflict. Grassley says, “For the better part of a year, I’ve been pushing the Justice Department and FBI to provide details on its handling of very significant allegations from a trusted FBI informant implicating then-Vice President Biden in a criminal bribery scheme.” Grassley was first made aware of the four-page document nearly a year ago, but he says the DOJ refused to release the FD-1023 until Comer issued a congressional subpoena. While some names have been redacted, Grassley claims the document clearly shows the Ukrainian gas company, Burisma, brought the president’s son, Hunter, onto its board of directors “to protect us through his dad, from all kinds of problems.” Additionally, Grassley says the FBI record shows Burisma CEO, Mykola Zlochevsky, made payments of $5 million to both Bidens and allegedly kept records of the arrangement. Grassley says, “While the FBI sought to obfuscate and redact, the American people can now read this document for themselves, without the filter of politicians or bureaucrats, thanks to brave and heroic whistleblowers. What did the Justice Department and FBI do with the detailed information in the document? And why have they tried to conceal it from Congress and the American people for so long? The Justice Department and FBI have failed to come clean, but Chairman Comer and I intend to find out.” A link to the full FBI FD-1023 report is included below.
