The first of an estimated 30,000+ RAGBRAI riders, support teams, and vendors began arriving in Carroll this (Monday) morning, and organizers are more than ready to see the crowd’s needs are met. Teams will be staying throughout the community at various homes and parks, but the main camping areas are in the fields surrounding Carroll High School. Most of the RVs will be parked near Merchants Park and Reuter’s Equipment on Radiant Road. Entertainment begins at 1 p.m. on the Barrel stage between Kerps Tavern and Carroll Brewing Company on 5th Street, with Aged Spirits to kick things off. 2½ Guitars take the stage at 3 p.m., followed by Scott Kirkhart and Jesse Wilson at 5 p.m. The main stage in the Chamber depot plaza begins at 4 p.m. with Pianopalooza, Wild Ambition at 4:30 p.m., Pianopalooza again at 6:30 p.m., and the main act, the Pork Tornadoes at 7:45 p.m. Vendors and other attractions will be set up throughout the central RAGBRAI area.
