JoAnn Olberding, 75, of Carroll IA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
JoAnn was born on April 21, 1948 in Carroll. She was a daughter of Vincent and Caroline (Weber) Daniel. She grew up in Arcadia and Carroll where she attended St. Johns Elementary and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1966.
JoAnn married John Olberding on April 8, 1972 at St. John’s Church in Arcadia IA. John and JoAnn were blessed with three children.
JoAnn worked as an Executive Secretary at Region 12 Council of Governments in Carroll for 25+ years. She enjoyed her job and her coworkers and kept in touch after her retirement.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 51 years, John, her children Jered (Brenda) Olberding of Carroll, Janel (Dan) Hartwigsen of Ankeny, Jack (Melissa) Olberding of Carroll. Seven grandchildren: Blake Olberding of Carroll, Abby Olberding of Omaha NE, Adam and Noah Hartwigsen of Ankeny, Ryan Rustvold of Carroll, and Camdyn and Caylee Olberding of Carroll. Four brothers: Ray (Jane) Daniel of Carroll, John (Judi) Daniel of Carroll, Albert (Mary) Daniel of Carroll, and Don (Linda) Daniel of Maudlin, SC as well as many In-Laws, nieces and nephews.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents Vincent and Caroline Daniel, brother David Daniel, sister Helen Henkelman, brothers-in-law Gary Olberding, Randy Olberding, and John Henkelman and parents-in-law LuVern and Modesta Olberding.
JoAnn was such a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed dearly and remembered fondly.
