State Senator Arrested For Interference With Officials Acts During RAGBRAI In Sac County

Authorities in Sac County say a state legislator was arrested on Monday after refusing to comply with law enforcement while he was participating in RAGBRAI. According to Sac County District Court records, 49-year-old Adrian Jeremy Dickey of Packwood, who currently holds the District 41 seat in the Iowa Senate, is charged with interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor. At approximately 2:42 p.m., a Sac County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a group of more than 200 riders that had congregated in the 3600 block of Quincy Avenue near the Sauk Rail Trail three miles south of Lake View. Law enforcement attempted to get voluntary compliance from the crowd to clear the roadway to no avail. Authorities say Dickey was one of the riders who refused to comply, and he was taken into custody.  He posted a $300 bond the same day and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at the Sac County Courthouse on Aug. 8.
