The Evolution of the Heartland Community Tailgate is coming to the Manning Hausbarn Heritage Park next week, and the public is invited to join in the celebration of rural Iowa. The Aug. 3 event will include live music, a tasty meal, an Iowa vendor Showcase, and a mini farm show. The festivities will kick off with Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg’s keynote address at 5:30 p.m., highlighting the theme of “Grow in Rural Iowa,” emphasizing the shared vision of fostering growth and progress in rural communities. Attendees will then enjoy a dinner featuring prime rib, brat bites, pork loin, a charcuterie display, and locally made desserts. The meal, priced at $15 per person, will be provided by local caterers and restaurants, including Two Palms Catering, Deb’s Corner Café, Darrell’s Place, the Bakery on Broadway, Sporrer’s Sweet Corn, Sporrer’s Melons, and Iowa Yak Ranch. The Community Tailgate will showcase an Iowa Vendor Showcase featuring an array of locally produced goods and produce from esteemed retailers. Guests can explore a delightful outdoor “mini farm show,” where local agricultural businesses, such as Manning Rent-all, Puck Enterprises, and others, will showcase their products and services. 2 ½ Guitars will provide entertainment.
