Join the Theulen/Schweers Family in honoring the extraordinary life of Kenzie Leigh Theulen- a remarkable woman who defied all expectations, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts. Kenzie gained her angel wings on Friday, July 28. Though her time with us was far too brief, her legacy of love will endure forever.
From an early age, Kenzie’s innate charisma and unwavering determination made her a natural-born leader. Fearlessly embracing challenges, she dug in her heels and lent a helping hand to anyone she encountered along her remarkable journey.
Kenzie gave it her all in every aspect of life. She attended the University of Northern Iowa and received her bachelor’s degree in Business. She spent 18 years at Principal Financial Group and was an active member at Hope Lutheran Church in West Des Moines.
Kenzie had a vibrant energy and infectious laughter, lighting up any room she entered. Her outgoing nature drew people to her, and she effortlessly created bonds that lasted a lifetime. Whether it was through a heartfelt conversation or a wild adventure, Kenzie’s zest for life was contagious and left an irreplaceable imprint on the souls fortunate enough to know her.
Everyone that knew Kenzie understood her heart was grounded in family. Marrying her high school sweetheart, Tony, she entered into a beautiful love story that exemplified ’till death do us part.’ Together they had two beautiful boys, Case (7) and Crew (6), who quickly became the center of her universe. Kenzie truly came into her stride as a mother above all things, embracing the little big moments of raising her young boys, a spirited olde english bulldog and two cats, while keeping the house meticulously organized and clean. Although she was taken from us all too soon, her legacy of love will be forever cherished through her boys and her spirit of resilience exemplified in each of them.
Competitive was an understatement when it came to Kenzie. Whether it was running State Track in high school, sand volleyball leagues with her siblings, cheering on the Cyclones, or watching Case and Crew play sports, she was all in.
She ended her time on Earth no different than how she lived it – as a fighter until her final breath. With her signature spunk and ongoing love for adventure, she fought valiantly, refusing to let her illness define her. Giving all who witnessed the finale of her journey here on Earth the heavenly confidence that this was just the start of a larger and much greater adventure for Kenzie.
As life goes on and we carry Kenzie with us in the little and big moments to follow, let us honor her by emulating the joy she so adamantly lived in. She will be forever present in our hearts as we carry on her legacy of living life to the fullest.
And to our dearest Kenzie, may you rest in joy knowing you are deeply cherished and loved. The adventure goes on.
