A Carroll woman faces a child endangerment charge after allegedly tossing an infant haphazardly into a crib earlier this month. According to Carroll County District Court records, 19-year-old Teagan Sean Becker was taken into custody on July 19 on an outstanding Carroll County warrant. A Manning Police Department affidavit alleges Becker was at a home in Manning near the end of June and “threw her approximately five-week-old baby into the crib like a basketball shot from shoulder height.” Fortunately, the child did not sustain any known injuries, but police say the action carried a substantial risk of seriously harming the child. Becker pled not guilty during her initial appearance before a magistrate on July 19 and was released on her own recognizance. Becker’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 10 at the Carroll County Courthouse. The aggravated misdemeanor charge carries a maximum penalty of up to two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
