A Glidden man faces charges in Carroll County District Court for allegedly threatening a roofing crew with a firearm. Court records show 59-year-old Alex Calderon was taken into custody Friday afternoon for assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor. An affidavit from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office alleges Calderon walked from his residence to a nearby worksite at 207 S. Idaho Street to complain about construction noise. A witness told law enforcement Calderon then drew an H&R Model 732 revolver from a holster and pointed it toward members of the six-person roofing crew in a threatening manner. Witnesses later positively identified Calderon, and authorities recovered the firearm in question when he was taken into custody. Calderon was released on his own recognizance after appearing before a magistrate. He faces up to two years in prison and $6,250 in fines if convicted.
