The organizers behind the Sunflowers: Share Light & Give Hope fundraiser announced last week that their third annual fundraiser collected over $12,000 for the St. Anthony Regional Cancer Center in Carroll. The sunflower-themed event, hosted by the Nepple family at Mark and Tami Nepple’s farm east of Mt. Carmel, was held on July 9 and welcomed hundreds of visitors. Supporters purchased bouquets of fresh-cut sunflowers, hope-themed crafts, t-shirts, and other items to support patients from throughout the area receiving cancer treatments at St. Anthony. Sunflowers: Share Light & Give Hope started as somewhat of an impromptu way for the Nepples, who, like many other local families, have so many family members who have struggled with cancer diagnoses. Mark Nepple says, “We cannot thank family, friends, the community, and corporate sponsors enough for the continued support of this event. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts! Keep sharing your light and giving others hope!” To date, the fundraiser has contributed $31,500 to the St. Anthony Regional Cancer Center, which is used to improve services at the treatment facility and keep costs down for patients.
