Joyce Alice Paulson, age 93, of Carroll, IA, passed away peacefully at St. Anthony Nursing Home on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Rev. Terry Plocher officiating. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren. A private family graveside service will be held at the Lanesboro Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 – 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Carroll.

Joyce was born on February 5, 1930 in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. She was the daughter of August Fredrick and Alice Patient Lindemann. She grew up in Australia and moved to the United States in November of 1946 as a war bride. She was remarried to Wilbur Torgerson in 1955 and the couple made their home in Lanesboro where they raised their son Danny. Joyce continued to live in Lanesboro until Wilbur passed away in 1973. She was married to Duane Paulson in 1994. Joyce was employed by the Boomsma Egg Plant in Glidden and later worked at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carroll. In her spare time she enjoyed baking, reading her Bible, sewing, gardening and visiting with her many good friends.
Joyce is survived by her son Danny Torgerson of rural Glidden; three grandchildren: Adrian Torgerson, Aricka Siebenaller (Jason), and Anthon Torgerson; three great-grandchildren: Kyler, Colby, and Emaley; a sister Lorna of Australia; and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents August and Alice Lindemann; a sister Melva; four brothers: Teddy, Ronnie, Billy, Lawrence and Dennis Lindemann; her good friends Darlene and Floyd Richardson; her husband Wilbur in 1973 and her husband Duane Paulson in 2020.
