Jefferson Man Seriously Injured After Crashing Motorcycle Into Deer Near Dunbar Slough

A Jefferson man was seriously injured last night (Wednesday) after his motorcycle collided with a deer in Greene County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, that accident occurred at approximately 9:43 p.m. on 250th Street, about a half-mile east of the Dunbar Slough State Wildlife Management Area. Authorities say 27-year-old Trevor Baugh was traveling eastbound on a 1982 Honda Nighthawk when a female deer collided with the motorcycle. Baugh was thrown from the Honda following the crash, sustaining severe injuries. He was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services and later airlifted to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
