Carroll County Convict Flees Iowa Work Release Program

A man convicted in Carroll County District Court in 2019 of felony robbery, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, and control of a firearm by a felon has reportedly absconded from the state’s work release program. According to the Iowa Department of Corrections, 54-year-old Ronnie Wayne Lee failed to report to the Fort Dodge Residential Facility as required on Aug. 19. He was admitted to the program on Aug. 2, just two weeks before fleeing. Lee was serving a 15-year prison sentence resulting from an Aug. 10, 2019 incident. Authorities arrested Lee for brandishing a firearm and demanding the victim hand over his cash and cellphone while riding in a motorhome between Carroll and Denison. Lee is approximately 5’9” and weighs an estimated 190 pounds. A photo of Lee is included with this story on our website. Anybody with information related to his whereabouts should contact their local law enforcement.
