The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education meets tomorrow (Tuesday). The board typically meets the third Monday of each month, but Superintendent Casey Berlau says they moved the August session back a day to adjust for the open houses scheduled for Monday.
Berlau says one of their first items of business will be to consider revisions to the Carroll Education Association (CEA) and Carroll Educational Support Association (CESA) employee handbooks.
Berlau adds the board will also consider approving changes to the middle and high school student and parent handbooks and coaching handbooks later in the meeting. School officials will also make appointments to several district committees, including the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB) delegate assembly, the Teacher Quality Committee, the School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC), and the Board Policy Review Committee. Berlau says these committees play a vital role in pursuing the district’s mission and vision.
School officials will close Tuesday’s meeting with budget updates and a bid review for proposed concrete work at the Carroll Athletic Stadium. The Aug. 22 meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Adams Elementary School Boardroom. It is open to the public and is also available remotely via Zoom. The full agenda is included with this story on our website.
