A Carroll teen accused of discharging a firearm within city limits earlier this summer will be charged as an adult. According to Carroll County District Court records, 18-year-old Gage Christopher Butcher faces one count of minor in possession of a loaded firearm within city limits, a serious misdemeanor. The charge stems from an incident on July 10 in the 400 block of Washington Street in Carroll. Law enforcement was dispatched to that area after they received reports Butcher had taken a loaded shotgun from a home and fired several rounds into the ground before fleeing the scene. Charges were initially being processed through the juvenile courts, but a judge approved a motion to waive jurisdiction to the adult court on Monday. Court records indicate the order was part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.
