Kevin Rupiper, age 65, of Roselle, died peacefully on Aug 26, 2023, at Manning Regional Healthcare Center surrounded by his family.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle. The celebrant will be Fr. Terry Roder. Con-Celebrants will be Fr. Timothy Schott and Fr. Lynn Bruch. Mass Servers will be Charlie Schreck, Max Schon, and Dylan Schon. Music will be by Jane Heithoff and the Holy Angels Choir. Lectors will be Mike Schon, and Shelly Schreck. Gift Bearers will be Kevin’s grandchildren: Ella, Carter, and Jack Rupiper. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Dale Behrens, John Behrens, Dave Brincks, Chris Dopheide, Rick Dopheide, Mike Gruhn, Danny Hahn, Steve Hahn, Jim Riesberg, and Gary Riesselman. Casket Bearers will be Scott Schon, Cole Rupiper, Bob Muhlbauer, Eric Glass, Nate Rupiper, Matt Loeffelholz, Elliot Fay, Chase Werden, and Cooper Blackledge. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. There will be no visitation prior to the funeral mass on Thursday morning. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, and online condolences may be left for Kevin’s family at www.sharpfuneral.com.
Kevin, the son of LeRoy and Pat (Williams) Rupiper, was born on June 1, 1958, in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up on a farm outside of Roselle and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1976. On September 14, 1986, he was united in marriage to Diane Danzer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willey, Iowa. They made their home outside of Roselle on the Rupiper family farm and raised their two boys, Ross and KelLee.
Kevin owned and operated Rupiper Grain and Salvage. He loved collecting tractors, trucks, and cars. Kevin was an avid card player, his favorites being pinochle and euchre. He loved going to auctions and getting a good deal. Going to Twin Lakes and spending time with his family and friends was also something he enjoyed. Most of all he cherished being called papa to his 3 grandchildren: Ella, Carter, and Jack.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 36 years, Diane; his sons Ross (Courtney) Rupiper, and KelLee (Kenzie) Rupiper and three grandchildren; his parents: LeRoy and Pat Rupiper of Carroll, IA; his siblings: Rick (Debbie) Rupiper of Honey Creek, IA, Jeannine (Richard) Muhlbauer of Carroll, IA, Lori (Dale) Schon of Willey, IA, Denise (Paul) Glass of Des Moines, IA, Brian (Cindy) Rupiper of Germantown, TN, Lisa (Danny) Loeffelholz of Omaha, IA, Julie Fay (Bob Fox) of Elkhorn, NE, Renee (Dave) Anderson of Carroll, IA, Paula (James) Blackledge of Elkhorn, NE; his mother-in-law: Joan Danzer of Carroll; sisters-in-law: Carol (Mark) Tigges of Glidden, IA, Cathy (Mike) Brincks of Glidden, IA, Gail Daniel of Glidden, IA; brothers-in-law: Myron (Linda) Danzer of Glidden, IA, Ken (Stacie) Danzer of Manhattan, KS, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Ed Danzer, brothers-in-law Jamie Danzer and Randy Daniel.
