The therapy department at Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) is thrilled to announce the addition of Lucas Schwery, DPT, to their team. Joining forces with Taylor Nelson, DPT, Schwery brings his expertise to broaden the scope of physical therapy services offered at MRHC. Schwery grew up in Kimballton and is a graduate of Exira-EHK. He earned his undergraduate degree from Morningside University, where he also assisted the Mustangs athletic training staff during contests. Following undergrad, Schwery attended Briar Cliff University and graduated from their Doctor of Physical Therapy program. His interest in physical therapy began when he was recovering from an ankle injury in high school. He says, “My injury inspired me to pursue an athletic training work-study job in college. It was at this job that I found my passion for helping others return from injury to do the things that they love and achieve their goals.” Schwery’s comprehensive skill set will address a range of impairments, including musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, balance, gait, and post-surgical conditions. Individuals experiencing pain during movement, recurring falls, dizziness, difficulty with daily activities, or chronic pain could benefit from physical therapy. To schedule an appointment, contact MRHC by calling 712-655-8298.
