WIN Donates $100,000 To SW Iowa Childcare Center’s Capital Campaign

Western Iowa Networks (WIN) has made a substantial donation to East Mills Child Care Solutions (EMCCS) in its efforts to establish an early learning center for the region. WIN donated $100,000 towards this initiative. WIN’s telecommunications partner, Aureon, made an additional contribution through their Ripple Effect program, which adds to economic development donations. The funds provided will be directed towards design and construction management fees necessary for the development of the state-of-the-art childcare center. East Mills Child Care Solutions was founded in 2022 by parents and community leaders who recognized the need for better childcare options in the East Mills Community School District. They launched a $5 million capital fundraising campaign to purchase, renovate, and furnish a former Malvern nursing home into the Lakin Foundation Child Development Center. When completed, it will provide childcare services for up to 150 children aged six weeks to 12 years. WIN CEO Jeff Roiland says, “We know the impact that our investment in deploying fiber broadband has on communities. East Mills Childcare Solutions will take the quality of life to yet another level, and we are proud to be a part of that effort as well.”
