The deadline for Iowa students seeking nominations to one of the nation’s service academies from Sen. Chuck Grassley is less than six weeks away. The U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy all select qualified students from Grassley’s nominations each year, and he encourages Iowa students to apply to multiple service academies as admissions are highly competitive. Grassley says, “The academies offer some of the best options for students interested in receiving a world-class education while serving our nation. It’s a tremendous opportunity for young Iowans. It’s an honor every year to nominate some of Iowa’s most talented students to our nation’s prestigious Service Academies.” The deadline for Iowa students to complete and submit their application for a nomination from Grassley is Friday, Oct. 20. Grassley will finalize his nominations by Dec. 31. Additional information and resources for completing the application process are included below.
