Jefferson Man Faces Multiple Charges Following Weekend Assault

A Jefferson man faces multiple charges following an alleged assault over the weekend. According to the Jefferson Police Department, officers were notified at approximately 7:31 a.m. Saturday of a belated assault and met with the victim. He told authorities the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Royce Christopher Gonnelly, had struck him in the face multiple times before leaving the area. Witnesses to the assault corroborated the victim’s report. Police arrested Gonnelly at his home in the 500 block of S. Chestnut Street and booked him into the Greene County jail on charges of first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and two serious misdemeanors, assault causing bodily injury and driving while revoked.
