A Sac County man was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison following his conviction for sexual abuse of a child. According to Sac County District Court records, 30-year-old William David Hutchinson was arrested in August 2022 after an investigation by the Sac County Sheriff’s Office found he had engaged in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old female victim over five months in the latter half of 2021. Hutchinson was initially charged with three counts of third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony, but two of the counts were dismissed as part of a plea agreement reached in March. Hutchinson will immediately begin serving his sentence, the maximum allowable under the law, and will be placed on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry for the remainder of his life.
