Iowa Assistant AG Chosen To Fill Judge Vacancy In Judicial Election District 5A

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds has announced the appointment of one of the state’s deputy attorneys general to serve as a district court judge. David Faith of Indianola is to fill the vacancy created in Iowa Judicial Election District 5A by the retirement of District Judge Randy Hefner. Faith earned his undergraduate degree in history in 2002 from Concordia College in Minnesota, his master’s in U.S. History from Syracuse University in 2004, and his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2008. In addition to his time with the Iowa Attorney General’s Office, Faith also served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Iowa for nearly five years and as a judge advocate for the Iowa National Guard for the past six years. Judicial Election District 5A encompasses six central Iowa counties, including Guthrie County.
