The Lake City Betterment Association invites area residents to join them this weekend for their celebration of all things autumn with the annual Fall Fest and Dell Blair Memorial Chili Cook-off. The Lohrville and Churdan Lions Club will kick the day’s activities off on Sunday with the Lions Club breakfast in the Lake City Square from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. They’ll be serving meals of pancakes, sausage, and eggs for $8 for adults and $5 for kids. Beginning at 10 a.m., vendors will be stationed in the square and the Lake City Community Building offering crafts, face painting, food, and children’s entertainment. The public chili and homemade salsa judging starts at 11 a.m. For $5, attendees can sample the various entries and cast their vote for who will take home the titles of 2023 champions. Organizers will close out this year’s Fall Fest with live music from Neil Anders and pumpkin decorating in the park from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. More information about the event can be found by visiting the Lake City Betterment Association Facebook page, a link to which is included below.
