Karen Marie was born on April 3, 1947 the Fourth of six children to Roy and Louise (Carstens) Lucht at Greene County Hospital in Jefferson, IA . She was baptized and attended Sunday School and Confirmation Classes at rural Trinity Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. She attended a rural Country School in Greene County until 2nd Grade and then attended elementary and high school in Coon Rapids.

She was young, but knew that Max Olesen was the guy for her and they were married on April 11, 1964. They were blessed with three sons and one daughter: Lyle, Tina, Brian, & Jerry. Their children attended Trinity Lutheran Sunday School and confirmation classes.

Karen dearly loved attending their children’s sporting activities and cheering them on to victories. She was very proud of each of her children and would tell you about their next sports activity (bragging a bit) whether it was running track, basketball or football.

She enjoyed playing cards with both the Lucht and Carstens families and loved gardening and canning the vegetables she and Max grew in what she called Max’s garden.
