Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) and McCrary-Rost clinics are expanding their mental health services with the addition of Kate DeWall, LISW, to their staff. DeWall, who holds a master’s degree in social work from Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, will provide virtual therapy for patients of all ages and backgrounds. DeWall’s expertise covers a range of mental health topics, including conflict resolution, healthy relationships, stress management, trauma, abuse, food and gut health, and the importance of social connection. SMCH Chief Nursing Officer Leigh Miller says, ” Ms. DeWall’s depth of experience, knowledge, and compassion will complement our organization well. There’s a great need for mental healthcare in rural areas like ours. Adding her to our team will help us assuage this need in the most convenient way possible.” DeWall is now available for virtual appointments every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., offering a convenient solution to mental health needs in the community. To schedule an appointment, individuals can contact the McCrary-Rost Clinic in Lake City at (712) 464-7907.
