The countdown to the 66th annual Carroll Band Day is on as less than two weeks remain until Iowa marching bands and parade entries take to the Carroll streets. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 30. Chamber of Commerce Program Director Ashley Schable says they’ve had to adjust the route due to the ongoing construction project on Adams Street.

Parade entries will begin at the intersection of Adams and 12th Streets. They’ll head east for three blocks before turning south on Clark Street for three blocks. They finish with a turn to the east on 9th Street through Graham Park, where the judges are located. The marching bands will proceed across Grant Road to the Carroll Athletic Field for the on-field contest. Schable says they already have a great lineup of Iowa bands signed up to participate.

Schable adds they are always looking for parade entries from local groups, organizations, and businesses. Currently, around forty are registered, but more are welcome. Schable says they are connecting the theme with the 66th anniversary this year, which should lead to some extra fun for car enthusiasts.
