WIN Donates $10,000 To Westside Shelter House Project

Win-Donation-to-Westside

Western Iowa Networks (WIN) and its telecommunications partner, Aureon, have awarded the City of Westside $10,000 to assist in the construction of a new shelter house facility in Hoffman Park. The original shelter house, in use since 1962, became part of a larger park revitalization effort. Recognizing the need for critical improvements, the community embarked on a project to enhance the shelter house’s functionality and accessibility. This year, the original structure was replaced with a multi-use community center boasting updated bathroom and kitchen facilities, a more efficient serving area, increased seating capacity, enhanced safety features with windows and a sliding door, and full HVAC capabilities for year-round use. The city council, residents, and local businesses, including Western Iowa Networks, utilized grants and organized fundraising events to fund the construction. WIN CEO Jeff Roiland says, “We are thrilled to be a part of this meaningful project in Westside. Our donation towards the new shelter house reflects our deep commitment to the local community and its well-being. We believe that investing in amenities like this not only enhances the quality of life for residents but also strengthens our bonds with the people we serve.”
