An Audubon man convicted for the July 2021 burglary of a Manning auto shop has been ordered to serve the original 10-year sentence after he was found in violation of his probation. According to Carroll County District Court records, 27-year-old Zeth Lee Petersen pled guilty to felony theft and burglary for a break-in at the Manning Service Center. He was placed on probation for five years as part of a plea agreement reached with prosecutors at that time. However, authorities say Petersen was found to have violated his probation’s terms on multiple occasions, including additional felony charges for theft and burglary in Audubon County District Court in April, as well as repeated drug use. In an order handed down earlier this month, Petersen’s probation was revoked, and he was ordered to serve the balance of the original sentence imposed, 10 years, in the custody of the Iowa Department of Correctional Services. That sentence is to be served concurrently with several other sentences stemming from convictions for theft and burglary.
