The Carroll Chamber of Commerce and Carroll County Growth Partnership (CCGP) has announced the dates and times for two planned forums with candidates on the ballot for the Nov. 7 city/school elections. There are three seats open on the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education, and seven candidates have filed to run for those positions: Casie Forke-Burke, Jim Friel, Jill Johnston, Stacy McCaulley, Jason Schagt, Cynthia Scaturico, and Sara Woederhoff. These candidates have been invited to participate in a school board candidate forum on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the Carroll High School auditorium. A second forum is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 25, featuring the candidates for Carroll City Council. Uncontested races include Jerry Fleshner for City Mayor, Jason Atherton in Ward 2, and LaVern Dirkx for At-Large. Incumbent Carolynn Siemann is being challenged for her Ward 4 seat by Justin McCool. Participants will answer questions submitted to the Chamber and CCGP Legislative Committee prior to the program, which can be submitted via email at chamber@carrolliowa.com.
