The Carroll Community School District Board of Education (CCSD) met with an architect last night to find a solution to sheltering some of their school’s most expensive equipment, the yellow school bus. Eric Beron, Principal Architect with DLR says the first few meetings are always about getting basics agreed upon, leaving room for future growth.
Jeff Cullen is the transportation director. He stresses the CCSD Bus Barn not only houses and maintains their own 38 busses but service’s other school fleets as well.
Casey Berlau, Carroll Community School Superintendent, says it’s his job to find the mean between an ideal new bus barn and what the budget will bear.
CCSD expects construction will commence on a new bus barn at 705 East 18th Street in May of 2024 and have it ready for the 2025/26 school year.
