Two area restaurants have made the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) list for 2023’s best breaded pork tenderloin contest. Every spring, the association collects nominations from throughout the state and then spends the summer judging the top 40, five from each of the eight IPPA districts. Tenderloins are judged anonymously by IPPA members and industry affiliates based on pork taste, quality, physical characteristics, and presentation. Landing in the top five are Cliff’s Place in Manning and ToJo’s Bar & Grill in Jamaica. The other restaurants rounding out the top five are Spillway Supper Club from Harpers Ferry, Stumpy’s Bar & Grill in Duncombe, and the Roadhouse from Orange City. Nearly 800 restaurants were nominated in 2023’s contest. A winner will be announced later this month.
