Gov. Kim Reynolds has announced the appointment of a Council Bluffs attorney, David Brooks, to fill a district associate judge vacancy in Iowa Judicial Election District 4. Brooks currently serves as an assistant public defender for the Office of the Iowa State Public Defender and as Judge Advocate General for the Iowa National Guard, where he holds the rank of Major. He earned his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Illinois in 2010 and his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2014. Iowa Judicial Election District 4 covers nine southwestern Iowa counties, including Audubon County.
