The Iowa Army National Guard and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) invite local business and community leaders to join them later this month to learn more about our local servicemen and women and catch a ride on a Blackhawk helicopter. On Thursday, Oct. 26, the two groups will host a civic leader event in the Carroll National Guard Armory at 1712 Le Clark Rd. from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Attendees will be treated to lunch by the ESGR, and representatives from the Iowa National Guard and reserve branches will highlight the many skills and capabilities learned by soldiers, sailors, and airmen that translate to the workforce. Employers are encouraged to send staff to attend the Oct. 26 program, but only two from each registrant will be afforded an opportunity to ride in the Blackhawk. There is no cost to attend, but RSVPs are required by Thursday, Oct. 12. Registration can be completed by filling out the form included with this story on our website and emailing it to David.m.mitchell11@us.army.mil, or by calling 515-252-4145.
