A sure sign that fall is here is the return of the Carroll Lions Club annual Soup Day, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 20. Ron Morlock, a Lions Club member, says volunteers will be serving up a tasty selection of soups from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Graham Park Shelter.

Their soup offerings include chili, cheesy potato, and chicken noodle, and each meal also comes with a ham sandwich, drink, and dessert. Meals for adults are $12 each, and kids 10 years old and younger eat for just $8. Danny Torgerson, another Lions Club member, says money raised during their Soup Day goes to support many local programs and initiatives.

The Lions Club Soup Day typically raises between $4,000 to $6,000, and Friday’s fundraiser is one of the group’s few fundraisers held throughout the year. Morlock and Torgerson note the community has always turned out in huge numbers to support the Lions Club during Soup Day, and they and the other volunteers look forward to seeing you all on Friday.
