No injuries but significant damage was reported in a house fire this (Friday) afternoon in Carroll. According to Fire Chief Dan Hannasch, the Carroll Fire Department was dispatched to 909 N. Clark Street at approximately 1:38 p.m. following a call from a neighbor to report the blaze. Two juveniles were in the home and were able to exit the building unharmed. Upon arrival, first responders found the garage and part of the adjacent kitchen burning. Crews were able to extinguish the blaze in about 45 minutes through the use of the department’s ladder truck. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours to monitor for hotspots or flare-ups. Hannasch says it is too early to determine how the fire started, and Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more information as official reports become available. The Carroll Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and Carroll County Emergency Medical Services also assisted at the scene.
