Regina Frischmeyer of Carroll, formerly of Glidden

Regina Elizabeth (Riesselman) Frischmeyer was born December 19, 1925, the daughter of Henry and Kathrina (Muhlbauer) Riesselman.  She died at St Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll, Iowa, Thursday October 26, 2023, at the age of 97.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 2, 2023, at St. Lawrence Church – St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll.  The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott.  Music will be by Kathy Halbur.  Lectors for the Funeral Mass will be Marvin Frischmeyer and Alden Frischmeyer. Gift Bearers will be Mitchell and Sarah Frischmeyer.  Eucharistic Minister will be Mary Ann Schulte.  Casket Bearers will be Marvin, Alden, Joseph, Chris, Denis, Brian Frischmeyer, Pam Guerrerio, and Gary Schulte.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m.   Additional visitation will be from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Thursday at the church.

Regina grew up on a farm near Halbur, Iowa, and received her education at a school near her home.  Regina was united in marriage on January 10th, 1951, to Leonard Frischmeyer at St Augustine Church in Halbur.  The couple settled on a farm near Glidden, Iowa, where they raised grain & livestock. In Regina’s leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She relished her time being involved in Holy Family Parish in Lidderdale, Iowa, whether it was cleaning the church, making apple pies for the bake sale, or coffee with the ladies of the parish.  At home, Regina enjoyed raising an immaculate garden with a scenic flower bed that bloomed all spring, summer, and fall.  During the winter months, you could always find Regina making a quilt for her family or grandchildren.  Regina also had a special talent for cooking large meals for her family and in particular enjoyed the fall harvest season and holidays.

Regina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard in 1991; one daughter, Joyce Schulte in 1985; brothers, Herbert (Dolores) Riesselman, Lawrence (Ada) Riesselman, Vincent (Edith) Riesselman, Henry Riesselman, Walter (Lucille) Riesselman, Leonard (Donna) Riesselman; sisters, Marie (Bill) Wernimont, Kathryn (Bob) Curnyn ; brother- in-law Tom Christiansen, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lawrence (Irma) Frischmeyer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kenneth (Margaret) Stangl; grandsons Steven Schulte and Curtis Frischmeyer.

Survivors include six sons; Marvin (Julie) Frischmeyer, Alden D.V.M. (Karen) Frischmeyer, Joseph Frischmeyer, Chris (Julie) Frischmeyer, Denis (Tami) Frischmeyer, Brian (Diane) Frischmeyer; one daughter Pam (Tony) Guerrerio; son-in-law Gary (Mary Ann) Schulte; two brothers, Andrew (JoAnn) Riesselman, Vernon (Betty) Riesselman; one sister, Alice Christiansen; sister-in-law Linda Riesselman 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers/gifts, memorial contributions may be made in care of St. Anthony nursing home or a charity of the family’s choice.
