Authorities Release Details Of Oct. 14 High-Speed Pursuit In Sac, Calhoun Counties

The Sac City Police Department has released additional details from a high-speed, multi-county pursuit several weeks ago. According to law enforcement, the pursuit began at approximately 10:35 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, in Sac City. An officer attempted to perform a routine traffic stop on a vehicle for driving erratically, but the driver, identified as 36-year-old Troy James Holicky of Manson, refused to yield. The pursuit proceeded out of town towards Lake City and reached speeds over 102 mph. The chase entered Calhoun County, and an assisting officer from the Lake City Police Department deployed stop sticks, deflating a rear tire. The pursuit continued back into Sac County for several miles before the vehicle stopped at 270th Street and Voss Avenue southeast of Sac City. Holicky attempted to flee on foot but was captured quickly. He has been charged with eluding at speed over 25 mph over the limit and third-offense operating while intoxicated, both class D felonies. The Sac and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Offices also assisted in the pursuit.
