The Carroll American Legion is gearing up for its annual fundraiser this weekend, and members are reaching out to area residents for their support. Legion Member RT Schreck says they’ve decided to end the longstanding practice of setting up at local businesses for weeks on end and are instead condensing their efforts into a single day.
Beginning at 8 a.m., American Legion members will be stationed out front of Wendl’s Weapons and Indoor Range at 810 E. Highway 30 in Carroll. Schreck says it is a simple drive-through setup where supporters can make a donation or purchase raffle tickets for $10 each.
Schreck adds they understand people are busy and not everybody can attend the drive-through event on Saturday. That’s why they’ve created alternate options for people who want to donate still.
Checks can be sent to the Carroll American Legion at 1124 Heires Ave, P.O. Box 213, or to the Legion’s Venmo, @Carroll-Legion. Be sure to include your name, phone number, and address to be added for qualifying raffle tickets. Schreck says proceeds from the fundraiser will be used for much-needed upkeep at the Legion building.
The Carroll American Legion fundraiser runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wendl’s Weapons and Indoor Range on Saturday, Nov. 4.
