Representatives from the Carroll Chamber of Commerce, Carroll County Growth Partnership (CCGP), and the City of Carroll are seeking the public’s help to prepare for an upcoming visit from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) to develop an action plan for the community’s downtown. From Nov. 28-30, staff from the IEDA Downtown Resource Center will be completing an onsite study of the area, culminating in a community presentation on the final day of the group’s visit to Carroll. Downtown Resource Center Director Jim Engle says, “The Assessment Visit is a great way for a community to take a step back and get honest feedback from a qualified group of downtown professionals. The five-person team will highlight the downtown’s strengths and challenges and will offer some practical recommendations that the community can implement over time.” A critical part of developing a quality action plan is the public’s involvement, and there are several ways to have your voice heard. For starters, there is a brief online survey that only takes a couple minutes to complete. A link to that questionnaire is included with this story on our website. The survey will remain available until Monday, Nov. 20. There also opportunities to become more directly involved with the Downtown Assessment through participation in one of several focus groups. Details can be found included below.
